14 year old Scottish actor Lewis MacDougall has been gaining mounting attention on the film festival circuit all summer for his performance in J.

A. Bayona’s adaptation of Patrick Ness's, A Monster Calls. Shot nearly two years ago, the role sees MacDougall - who previously starred in Pan - play a young boy called Conor who attempts to deal with his mother's illness, and bullying by his classmates, by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairytales. Acclaimed director Bayona said MacDougall was the obvious front-runner for the role following a lengthy casting call, and his performance in the buzzed about film left audiences at the Toronto Film Festival in tears. Now the actor is headed to the London Film Festival for the drama's UK debut, where he'll take to the red carpet alongside co-stars Liam Neeson and Sigourney Weaver.
